Membership Requirements
The JJBC does not have any hard and fast rules for membership. Our basic requirements are quite simple:
-
Good Jiu-Jitsu skills and technique,
-
Honorable people, and
-
Participating members.
We don't want schools that:
-
Just collect affiliation certificates,
-
Are NOT predominantly "Traditional Japanese" styles of Jiu-Jitsu,
-
Never seem to make it to any of our events, and
-
Don't have time to assist and/or serve on our boards and committees.
It's no problem if:
-
Your school/club is really small (one of our Directors has only 3 active students),
-
You already belong to another umbrella organization - many of our members do too (JJBC is your LOCAL support network), or if
-
You don't already belong to another organization (JJBC can fill in the gaps for you).
The next steps…
Find out about us:
-
Review our website.
-
Attend a technical seminar or camp as a guest (incognito if you want).
-
Talk to existing club owners and enquire about their feelings towards JJBC.
-
Ask around about our reputation.
If you still want to join, if we meet your expectations, send us your martial arts resume and provide us with a brief description of your Jiu-Jitsu style and your club/school so we can learn more about you. Please contact Randy Martin by email at roninjiu-jitsu@shaw.ca or call 250-470-3726 for more information.
Do you know a dojo that might benefit from being a member of the JJBC? Tell them about us.
