Why Choose a Jiu-Jitsu BC Society Dojo?
There are a lot of hokey martial arts schools out there in every style, Jiu-jitsu included. Disreputable instructors sometimes hand out black belts to anyone who's willing to pay for it without having undergone the proper training.
These black belts sometimes go on to open their own schools and teach without the appropriate knowledge to do so. Poor instruction can lead to serious injuries or simply waste your time and energy.
Becoming a Jiu-jitsu instructor takes years of training combined with proper guidance from a trained master. That's why all schools and its instructors must undergo an extensive background check into their training and teaching experience before being accepted as a member of the Jiu-Jitsu BC Society. They are also evaluated for their quality of technique and instructive abilities to ensure they meet our high standards.
Anyone can open a Jiu-jitsu school. The only way to guarantee the highest standard of quality, expertise and safety is to make sure the club you join is a member of the Jiu-Jitsu BC Society.
