Student Membership
Belonging to the JJBC connects you as a Jiu-Jitsu student to a vast network of people who share your common interest. Providing students opportunities to learn from different instructors and meet other students from across the province is one of the JJBC's most important priorities.
As a JJBC student, you have the opportunity to:
- Learn about martial arts history, share martial arts stories and experiences, and discover new training techniques from the JJBC newsletter.
- Attend quarterly technical seminars in JJBC dojos across the province.
- Participate in the annual intensive JJBC martial arts camp.
- Take advantage of 8 free training classes a year at any one of our member schools (max 2 per school).
- Compete in jiu-jitsu tournaments.
Instructor Membership
As a JJBC instructor, you enjoy all benefits that other JJBC students do, as well as the opportunity to participate in JJBC events. Black belts have the most to gain from JJBC events. Not only are these events opportunities to learn from other JJBC instructors, you are also encouraged to take a strong role in hosting events, providing you with opportunities to stretch and grow as martial arts teachers. This gives you the chance to take on more responsibilities and gain experience in developing lesson plans for larger events.
You also have the opportunity to:
- Foster growth and promotion of Jiu-Jitsu in BC,
- Participate in National Coaching Certification Program courses,
- Participate in our Tournament Officiating program,
- Participate in black belt seminars held twice a year in BC,
- Participate in first aid certification programs, and
- Gain Jiu-Jitsu instructor fellowship & mutual support.
Unfortunately, we do not process individual applications for students who are not training at a JJBC dojo. If you are interested in becoming involved with the JJBC, please tell your instructor about us.
